Michael is a native Cumbrian but has lived in Gloucestershire for 40 years. He started painting and exhibiting his work when he retired as a Primary Headteacher in 2005. He studied Art at Strawberry Hill ,London where he obtained his teaching certificate. He later gained a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Gloucestershire.
After retirement he began painting regularly and displaying his work in local exhibitions. He has exhibited at Art in the Park in Cheltenham and several venues throughout Gloucestershire.
Michael paints in a variety of forms particularly acrylic and in mixed media. His subjects include urban and beach scenes. From frequent worldwide travels he photographs locations and brings these pictures back to his garden studio at Bluebell House. He then produces a wide and varied range of stunning location scenes.
